NZD/USD racking up gains towards 0.87 handle
FXStreet (Guatemala) - NZD/USD is posting terrific gains on the start of the week, end of the month, from 0.8640 and currently having a pop at 0.8680 level ahead of key resistance 0.8698 resistance.
Speculators Short USD
Stratgists at Rabobank explained that the USD recovered a little poise last week following the more hawkish than expected comments from Fed Chair Yellen. “However, speculators remain short. The previous week USD shorts rose to their highest level since March 2011”.
NZD/USD Volatility / Strength
On the hourly NZD/USD chart, ATR (14) is presently at 7 pips, while 2-Standard Deviation Volatility Bandwidth is expanding and currently 32
pips. On a daily chart, 2-Standard Deviation Volatility Bandwidth is shrinking at 319 pips.
NZD/USD spot is in neutral territory according to the hourly FXStreet OB/OS Index, while the FXStreet Trend Index is slightly bullish. RSI is in neutral territory at 72.01, up from it’s last hourly close at 56.50, while ADX is ranging above 30 at 29.65, up from 14.90 at the last hourly close.
Looking to a daily chart, we see that RSI is neutral at 69.86. The 200 SMA is currently at 0.8669, up from 0.8593 at the last period close, and climbing on the hourly NZD/USD chart. Moving in an upward trend, the exponential average closing price is 0.8528.
